The Weekend Makes History with Unprecedented Record for

The Canadian singer The Weekend (à écouter sur la webradio Love By Allzic) is a true phenomenon, showing no signs of stopping. He made a strong comeback at the beginning of the year with the release of his project "Hurry Up Tomorrow", which has sold very well. A nice success, but nothing compared to his slightly older achievements. Like the song "Blinding Lights", for example, which has become the most-streamed song in Spotify's history: the track just surpassed 5 billion streams this week.

Produced by The Weeknd himself, Max Martin, and Oscar Holter, the song quickly became a true phenomenon, reaching the top of the charts in around forty countries, including France, the United Kingdom, and Australia. In the States, the song remained in the top 10 for literally a year and was named by Billboard as the "greatest hit of all time". It's no coincidence that he is often referred to as the "king of streaming", and Spotify would certainly agree!

On the platform, the singer earns, with "Blinding Lights", no less than 1.5 million streams a day, even after 6 years since its release. This is the very first time in the history of the streaming platform that such a number has been surpassed. On social media, Spotify's team obviously announced the news with a post celebrating this exceptional record.
