Will Céline Dion Make a Surprise Appearance at Eurovision?

The countdown has begun for one of Europe's biggest music events. On May 17, the city of Basel will host the Eurovision, where each country hopes to clinch victory, much like Switzerland, which shone last year thanks to Nemo. This year, France is leading the odds according to bookmakers and is counting on Louane to represent its colors. Her song will be unveiled in advance on March 15, during the halftime of the rugby match between France and Scotland. And to make a lasting impression, the production has planned a spectacular show!

Céline Dion at Eurovision? It's under discussion!

Indeed, the Eurovision organization has reportedly contacted Céline Dion (find her in the 80s playlist by Allzic) to make her the guest of honor for this edition. A significant gesture for the singer who will have her tribute tour, having won under the Swiss flag in 1988 when she was only 20 years old! Moritz Stadler, the executive co-producer of the contest, spoke about the possibility of seeing Céline Dion on May 17:

"Céline Dion and the Eurovision Song Contest in Switzerland go hand in hand. That's clear. Will she be in Basel? Will she be part of the show or not? There are many possibilities, and we are working on it."

To achieve this, the production team wants to go all out to create a grand edition:

"It is important for us that Eurovision remains the biggest televised entertainment on Earth. That’s what we aim for, and that’s what you will see behind your screen. (...) We transformed these crazy ideas into concepts in December. And now, since December, we are really trying to bring to life what we imagined with these crazy ideas."

Will the widow of the late René (whom you can listen to in the Live FR playlist by Allzic) be present? Nothing is certain yet, but it bodes well for the future!
